Twenty-one US five-cent coins, all of the Jefferson type, shown obverse and reverse. Obverses display the left-facing portrait with 'IN GOD WE TRUST' and 'LIBERTY' legible on most pieces. Reverses show Monticello with 'E PLURIBUS UNUM,' 'MONTICELLO,' 'FIVE CENTS,' and 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA' visible; a 'P' mintmark is legible on a number of the reverse examples. Coins range in colour from bright silver-grey to heavily toned dark grey-black, indicating varied degrees of circulation and oxidation; several show surface spotting, dark patches, and worn high points consistent with heavy circulation use.
