Soviet red velvet Komsomol flag for School No. 508, Leningrad
Large rectangular banner of crimson/deep-red crushed velvet with gold fringe along three edges (bottom and both sides). The face carries applied or embroidered Cyrillic lettering in gold, reading 'КОМСОМОЛЬСКАЯ ОРГАНИЗАЦИЯ 508й средней трудовой политехнической ШКОЛЫ московского района Г. ЛЕНИНГРАДА' — identifying it as the Komsomol organisation banner of the 508th Secondary Labour Polytechnic School of the Moskovsky District of Leningrad. Text is rendered in two styles: bold block capitals for the main lines and a flowing script for the district and city lines. The velvet shows areas of crushing and light surface wear; the right-hand edge exhibits visible fraying and a vertical tear or split along the fabric.
