Soviet red velvet flag with Lenin portrait, Marxism-Leninism slogan

Large ceremonial banner in crushed red velvet with gold fringe along the bottom and left edges. The obverse bears a centrally placed embroidered or appliquéd bust portrait of Lenin in profile (facing right) within a circular gold border with small decorative elements and flanked by embroidered gold oak-leaf sprigs. Below the portrait, four lines of gold Cyrillic text read: 'Под знаменем марксизма-ленинизма, под руководством Коммунистической партии — вперед к победе коммунизма!' ('Under the banner of Marxism-Leninism, under the leadership of the Communist Party — forward to the victory of communism!'). A partial Cyrillic inscription also appears near the top edge. The reverse shows a full-face Lenin portrait with the same slogan in white text on red. The velvet shows pronounced creasing and some surface wear throughout.

Condition

Used; significant overall creasing and crushing of the velvet pile; no tears or missing fringe sections visible, but general surface wear consistent with storage or use.
