Japanese Rising Sun Flag with Kanji Inscription 勝

Large cloth flag constructed in a rising-sun pattern with a central red disc and sixteen radiating red and cream/tan rays on a cream ground, assembled from sewn fabric panels rather than printed. The hoist edge has a cream-coloured header strip bearing a single brushed-ink kanji character (勝) and a metal grommet. The flag shows heavy overall soiling, fading, and creasing throughout, with the cream rays yellowed and the red areas somewhat faded.
